JOURNEL
PROFESSOR HERBERT:
Professor Herbert wore a gray suit; the suit matched his gray hair. He was a big man.
DAVE:
Teenage boy, goes to a country side high school. "HillBoy"
PA(LUSTER) SEXTON:
Pa's eyes danced fire. "A bullet will make a hole in a schoolteacher just the same as it will anybody else."
His face was getting red. The red color was coming through the brown, weather-beaten skin on Pa’s face.
Pa's dialect consists of the 'e' in the disappearing, as some would say. 'The' becomes 'th'. Pa also uses the word ain't. In which in the english language isn't a actually proper word to be spoken. As well as 'g's in the suffix 'ing'. He doesn't say them so 'doing' becomes 'doin'. A example of Pa's dialect is: "Why are you gettin' in here this time o' night? You tell me or I'll take a hickory withe to you right here on th' spot!"
MA SEXTON:
Ma uses the same dialect as Pa.
FARM:
Six miles from the school. Hill , country.
SCHOOL:
Four miles from the hillside of Eif Crabtree's place/cherry orchards. Six miles from Dave's farm. Country side high school.
