50 years of age, three sons( one who is with her is 10), married, Husband and two eldest sons deported w/the first transport by mistake, quite woman. Intense burning eyes, worked and supported the family, predicted of the fire, warned of the furnace, treated like a madman and beaten and gagged by other people to shut up
Elie:
Silent , still a teenager, still rather in belief of his god.

SETTING:
Detail the time and place the story is presently at:
Country side, two days, Tuesday or Wednesday, platform, Birkenau center for Auschwitz
Where were the prisoners brought?
Bikenau, and Auschwitz

Describe the treatment of Madam Shachter. Why is she treated this way?
The Madam wouldn’t quite down, everyone took on force when her cries of warning escaped the gagging. Tried down, gagged, and beaten until she could’ve died but didn’t.

Madame Shachter is screaming about a fire, a furnace of death, the reason is that maybe she was shown something? In her head a imagination? Told by God? She could be predicting all of the persons death.
