Chapter 11:
Jem and Scout are older now(8 & 12), which meant something in life would have to change. This change was walking into town, they use to just walk without any problems, now they get insulted by a "friendly" old lady named Mrs. Henry Lafayette Dubose, who insluts their father of his case and starts making assumptions. Jem finally snaps one day and takes the baton he bought for Scout and smashes all her flowers. Atticus comes home and yells at Jem to march back over their and apologize. Which he does and receives a punishment from her to read to her for 2 hours everyday for a month. Dubose died a few days after a month and leaves a camelia for Jem, which he crys. Jem learns that She was a morphine addict who wanted to die not because of the drug but becuse of something else.

Dixie Howell: Millard "Dixie" Howell was a popular University of Alabama football player during the 1930's.
Ivanhoe: a novel written in 1819 by Sir Walter Scott set in the Middle Ages during the time of the Crusades.
